I bought 6 patterns with my Christmas money, and realized I still have a stash buying problem. So along with my 25 project challenge, I am participating in the Abstinence Challenge effective 3/1/09. At first I didn’t think I could do it, as I don’t have much fabric/floss to support no buying for the year, but then I remembered my goal of finishing White Nights of St Petes and Sunnia this year. If I really want to do that, I should be putting all my effort towards them anyway. So I have the list below of WIP’s or projects that I have already kitted up, and that will be it for the year. I also put the rules from the challenge to remind me everytime I think I need to buy something.

The Wagon Challenge is a commitment to not enhance your stash and to save money. It is tough, yet rewarding to be a part of and to make it to the end.

Absolutely no stash purchases can be made whilst a part of the challenge. Gifts, gift money, gift vouchers are exempt, as is a purchase for a current project that is already started and for which you run out of something unexpectedly.
Signups end 2/28/09 at midnight board time. NO EXCEPTIONS
You must sign up in this thread and list any prior commitments and gift monies currently held
Signing up means you commit to sending something from your stash to be included in the prize at the end of the challenge for the winner. This must be mailed in March once we know who is participating. Stasha’s address will be messaged to you.
NEW THIS YEAR – there will be NO EXCEPTIONS in the true spirit of the challenge
Prior commitments (i.e. current round of Secret Stitcher) are allowed since you’ve already committed. However, if you want to join the next round, that would breach rule 3. Fabric of the month or similar would also breach rule 3 and would need to cease before starting the challenge. You may certainly attend any retreats etc but not to buy stash.
There will be one and ONLY one winner at the end.
Final prize winner will be determined by a random drawing
Once your prize contribution is received you will truly be a member of the challenge team eligible to win if all other rules are met at the end of the challenge.
Survival is based upon your honesty, and any surfing I am able to achieve.
This Challenge will end at midnight board time on 12/31/09. So no New Year’s Eve Sales!
